All about Robin!
It's all about me!
Hi! I'm Robin. I was born on September 12 in a small town in Wisconsin. Was born and raised there. I graduated high school in 1998 when I left the house and went to the University of Wisconsin in search of my associates degree. I finished my college career after 2 1/2 years without that degree. (due to disagreements with my counseler - but that's another story).
In July 2000, I married my husband, TJ. He was home for a month to get married, left on orders (Army) to Oklahoma, and came back home for a week in August to pack us up and move us down to our new place of residence for the time being. :)
I started working at SpringHill Suites by Marriott in January 2001. I started as a desk clerk and in April of 2002, I was promoted to Front Desk Manager. I love working there! The staff, management, and guests that stay are amazing. It's a great thing to be apart of.
In March 2001, we found out we were pregnant! Britney was born in December 2001 and is growing like a weed! She's started talking, walking, RUNNING, and it's amazing to watch her learn new things each and every day. OH where oh where has time gone? :)
Which brings me to where I am now...hmmm. Where to begin!? With the attack on America and the World Trade Centers in New York, the military and America will never be the same. TJ found out he'd be leaving to go fight in the war in February 2003. He came home one night, knew I was watching a favorite show, turned the TV off, and I knew what was coming. He told me they were going to be leaving. He didn't know when, just they were going to leave sooner or later. They didn't have a specific date yet, nor did they know if it was going to be close to then. He couldn't tell me EVERYTHING...just that he was leaving. SO!! I cried a lot, and thought, and cried some more...I thought what would be the best for my family. Britney was in Daycare and everyone spoke Spanish at the daycare, which would be great if she spoke English FIRST!, we weren't near family, I had a good job but didn't want daycare raising her while TJ was gone...so I decided to move back home to Wisconsin.
After many changes to dates of when TJ was leaving he left Oklahoma on March 21, 2003. He went right to Kuwait. He was there for two weeks and then moved into Iraq. From there, I shouldn't say exactly where. (who knows who reads this stuff!)... I'm living with his sister and her family. I recently got a job at a different hotel working at the front desk full time but going to move down to part time shortly. I didn't want daycare to raise my daughter and I don't want it to feel like my sister in law and her family are raising her. They have their hands full with two boys and another one on the way...Britney's enough just by her self!!
I haven't heard from TJ in a week now. This has been the longest period of time I haven't heard from him. I was able to talk to him for 10 days straight at one point in time...and boy was I Blessed! He said that he may be home by July at the earliest but who knows what will happen by then. The USS Abraham Lincoln just returned home after 10 months out at sea...I can't imagine him being gone that long...but it has crossed my mind! I love you TJ And think of you every minute of every day!!
Thanks for checking out my page. I'm glad you could make it. Please keep my husband and other fellow Americans fighting for our freedom in your thoughts and prayers. Also sign our guest book on your way out and let us know what you think! :)
We'd love to know you were here!
Go Home!
Thank you Graphic Garden!!! You Rock.
