"Rose and I went to the Char Bar, a great big barn of a place where live bands use to play. Wisconsin was 18 for drinking beer so we drove all the way to Jefferson to dance and drink. That's where I met your dad!!!"
"Sly and the Family Stone were playing "HIGHER" and I asked him to dance. Then I went to the bathroom and you know how long those lines are in the bar bathrooms.....so it took a while and when I came out of the bathroom there he was waiting for me. We danced some more and I let him kiss me and he announced "YOU ARE THE WOMAN I"M GONNA MARRY!".... I said "Yeah right! You're drunk!".....and off we (Rose and I) went to Illinois."
"Ok it was 1971 and in those days we wore hip hugger jeans with no pockets and crop tops. So our brown bellies hung out and there was no place to put your ID. So I had your Dad hang onto it for me. I forgot to get it back. The next day he called me and drove my ID down to Illinois and met my MOM. He liked her and she liked him. I WAS SUNK! :)"
"I went off in February of 1972 to Airline School and got a job in Kansas
City, Kansas. I called your Dad to tell him about it and he
said.........."Come home and marry me." I did the following September
and they lived happily ever after...."
Straight from Mom's fingers and computer. I was told they met at a high school dance! LOL Maybe that was when I was 10 years younger and wasn't supposed to know what alcohol was! :0)
Anyways....
Seven years after marrying, (in 1979) they had their first girl. Robin Michele.
